Mission: Valley Mission: Valley Save-A-Pet (VSAP) is a non-profit humane society established to alleviate the unnecessary suffering of all animals. VSAP subscribes to the principal that euthanasia will not be practiced unless it is medically indicated.

VSAP is a 501c3 corporation and all donations are tax deductible as allowed by law.

About: Valley Save-a-Pet is a 100% volunteer organization. Every penny of your donations goes to helping the animals. Valley Save-A-Pet helps rehabilitate abandoned dogs and cats and places them in suitable, loving homes.  Since VSAP does not own its own shelter, they use some funds to board rescue animals until they can be placed in foster homes or forever homes. Adoption Days are held twice monthly at The Purr-fect Place, the VSAP resale store and at PetSmart.  Information about animals ready for adoption is available at the phone number shown above and on Petfinder.  VSAP operates one of the most extensive spay and neuter programs in Ohio and also provide funds for emergency veterinary care of animals owned by people in financial need. Occasionally, Valley Save-a-Pet reaches out to other rescue groups, offering financial help for their programs, such as the training program in practice by the Geauga County Animal Shelter, which increases the adoptability chances for dogs in that facility; the kennels and fencing donated to the Geauga facility; and monies donated to Happy Trails Farm in Portage County for their rescue and rehabilitation of abused horses.

Valley Save-a-Pet operates under a president, vice-president, and board of directors. New officers are elected every year at their annual meeting.

Fundraising: One ongoing source of income for Valley Save-a-Pet is The Purr-fect Place, their resale store, which is stocked entirely by donations of new and used items including home décor, collectibles, seasonal goods, antiques and miscellaneous items.   The store is operated entirely by volunteers and all profits go to help the animals.  The store is located at:  715 Broadway  Bedford, OH 44146

To make a donation to the store, please call 440-232-9124 Monday through Saturday from 11:00 am to 4:00 pm.

Another continuing fundraiser is the group’s red and yellow dog house donation boxes placed in local businesses.  Volunteers periodically collect these donations and all the money goes directly to the operating budget.

An annual raffle of cash prizes provides additional revenue to fund the operating budget.

Memberships of $15 for single and $30 for family annually include a quarterly newsletter and opportunities for volunteer service.

An annual appeal for financial support is also sent to all members.
